Fred Drennan, President & CEO
Fred Drennan has worked across the U.S. for the past 25 years as a safety professional. In the beginning of his career, Fred had safety responsibilities for 13 states of a subsidiary of the Santa Fe Railroad. He is a qualified expert in industrial accident prevention and has presented expert testimony in several trials. Fred has written several publications that have appeared in Professional Safety, Facility Safety Management, Structural Building Components, and other publications. He has been a guest on television and radio as an expert on occupational safety and health.
His client companies have saved hundreds of thousands dollars in workers compensation and have received awards for safety excellence from some of the largest workers comp carriers in the U.S.
As a professional speaker (past Toastmaster) on the subject of occupational safety and health, Fred has spoken at international conferences in Nashville , Denver , and Las Vegas . He recently was a speaker at the Alabama ’s Governor Safety Conference.
Fred is a graduate of Cal State Fullerton and Fullerton College where he received academic honors in Sociology. After graduation he studied Fire Sciences at Santa Barbara College . He is an instructor in industrial safety at Fullerton and Oxnard College .
Fred is the co-creator (along with Dr. Richey) of the Back Synergy Integrated Fitness, Safety, and Supervisor Leadership program, the flagship product of Team Safety, Inc.
David Richey, Ph. D, Board Chairman
Dr. David Richey is an author, consultant, and industrial psychologist. He is one of the nation’s foremost speakers on getting results from employee participation. He has spearheaded quality and performance programs for Kodak, Caterpillar, DuPont, and many other world-class organizations. David Richey, Ph.D. Industrial psychologist and nationally known lecturer and author on quality and safety systems, Chairman of the Board and co-creator of Team Safety, Inc., and Chairman of the California Team Excellence Award. His keynotes and full day workshops are regularly presented at Seagate Inc., Caterpillar, Compaq, Kodak, DuPont, 3M, Navy, Airforce, and Duke Power, to name a few.
Tina Drennan, VP, Operations and Program Development
Tina Drennan is a co-founder of Team Safety, Inc. along with Fred Drennan and Dr. Richey. An author and technical writer, Tina provides the consulting expertise to customize training and implementation programs for your organization. As our product development team leader, she developed ActiveIIPP, our safety performance management software, conceived and designed our Back Synergy team-based fitness reporting system, and designed and published the Team Safety, Inc. FlipBook Training System.
Ron Edwards, MS, Fitness Programs Director
Ron Edwards has 15 years of experience as a physical and sports training specialist. Ron is a graduate of Cal State Fullerton College with a master’s degree in Biomechanics and Kinesiology. He has designed and implemented thousands of athletic and rehabilitative exercise programs. Ron developed the fitness protocols used in Team Safety, Inc.’s Back Synergy program and oversees all elements of new program development. As a Biomechanics Consultant with Team Safety, Inc., Ron performs worksite analysis and ergonomics evaluation and training.
FITNESS CONSULTANTS
Nancy Epping, MS, Kinesiology and Exercise Physiology
Nancy Epping is a highly qualified fitness instructor who has been on the Team Safety team since 2000. She has delivered quality safety/fitness program services for at the County of Ventura , City of Oxnard , and County Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County , and many other locations for over 1000 employees. In addition to implementing stretching and strength programs for the work environment, Nancy also assists in performance audits and provides lecture and training on health topics such as nutrition and stress reduction.
She has been a physical education instructor for Los Angeles City College and Oxnard/Ventura Colleges since 2000, where she develops and implements curriculum pertaining to circuit training and other physical education courses. She administers various fitness tests and analyzes data for students. She develops health education materials for online learning and an Internet based fitness course.
Nancy has a BS in Health Education from California State University , Northridge, and an MS in Kinesiology, California State University , Northridge, 2000.
Brett Wakefield, BA Exercise Physiology, University of Alabama
Brett Wakefield is the primary fitness consultant at our 3M, Guin , Alabama site. The Strength and Flexibility Exercise program implemented there was a key element in their program success. Brett is also the head of the Rehab Department at Northwest Medical Center , Winfield , Alabama , where he manages a full service exercise and rehab facility primarily for the rehabilitation of heart patients. He has welcomed many of 3Ms employees to his the medical center’s fitness facility which is open to the public
